Yves Cuilleron Condrieu “Le Petit Côté” Viognier 2023

$132.00

Region: Condrieu, Northern Rhône, France
Varietal: Viognier
Vintage: 2023

The Wine
Crafted by Yves Cuilleron—an influential force in the Northern Rhône, and indeed a legend for good reason at his home estate at Chavanay, this bottling comes from muscovite granite plots in Condrieu. The wine is fermented with native yeasts and matured for nine months across barriques and foudres, striking a balance between expressive fruit purity and refined oak integration.

Cellared Says
Exuberantly aromatic, yet precisely tuned: apricot notes as expected, but also lemon mertle intertwined with a floral edge and orchard fruit. All held by vibrant acidity and gentle salinity—a Condrieu of sexy power and poise. Simply gorgeous.

Wine Reviews
“Lemon verbena, tarragon and apricot – this is not as ripe as other Condrieu, and the acidity is slightly higher. Rich in body, with an opulent mouthfeel and some welcome tension... it’s dry, with a saline edge.”
95 Points – Matt Walls, Decanter
