Vietti Barolo Lazzarito 2021
Region: Serralunga d’Alba, Barolo, Italy
Variety: Nebbiolo
Vintage: 2021
The Wine
From the famed Lazzarito cru in Serralunga, a site known for deep clay-limestone soils and wines of power, structure and dark mineral depth. Vines are 35–55 years old. Fermentation with long maceration precedes maturation in large oak casks for around 30 months.
The 2021 vintage produced remarkably pure, structured Nebbiolo. Lazzarito shows its signature notes of graphite, iron, rose, black cherry and spice, carried by long, tightly woven tannins.
Cellared Says
Monumental Serralunga — powerful, aromatic, finely structured. A grand, age-worthy Barolo with decades of life, tension, and verve.
Wine Reviews
“Stunning. Marries Serralunga power with extraordinary finesse. Dark red cherries, rose petals, blood orange and chalk saturate the palate.”
Antonio Galloni, Vinous – 97 Points
“Elegant yet powerful. Finely textured tannins, superb length, and depth typical of Lazzarito.”
Monica Larner, Wine Advocate – 96 Points
