The Wanderer Macclesfield Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2024
Region: Yarra Valley, Victoria
Variety: Pinot Noir
Country: Australia
Vintage: 2024
The Wine
From a single vineyard in Macclesfield, cane-pruned MV6 vines on volcanic soils (250 m elevation), 100% destemmed and wild-fermented in open fermenters, with full-berry retention. Aged for 11 months in seasoned large-format French oak, this Pinot maintains bright, pure fruit and terroir clarity.
Cellared says
A vibrant, silky Pinot with lifted red and black berry flavours, spice, and smooth structure. Bright acid and a light body deliver immediate charm and long-term appeal. Finer and more restrained than the Yelingbo, but arguably classier. If it lasts a year or more in bottle it will reward further. But great Pinot drinking. High value.
