Vintage: 2021

The Wine

Founded by Dominik Huber, Terroir al Límit has redefined Priorat through a Burgundian lens — favouring finesse, whole-cluster fermentation and minimal new oak over the region’s traditionally powerful style.

Dits del Terra (“Fingers of the Earth”) is sourced from old-vine Carignan planted on steep, north-facing slopes of fractured llicorella slate around Gratallops. These low-yielding vines, many approaching 80 years of age, produce fruit of remarkable concentration yet natural freshness.

Fermented with a high proportion of whole bunches and aged in large neutral oak foudres, the wine emphasises mineral line and tannin architecture rather than extraction. 2021 was a cooler, finely balanced vintage in Priorat, delivering aromatic precision, tension and clarity.

Cellared Says

Crushed slate, dark berries and wild herbs with finely etched tannins and exceptional mineral drive. This is Priorat recalibrated — elegant, terroir-first and built for long cellaring. I’m a huge Carignan fan, that slightly rustic, earth edge gets me everytime. This is a step up, super fine, elegant with that varietal herbal edge.

Wine Reviews

“The 2021 Dits del Terra shows lower alcohol and more freshness, and it has an herbal note and feels very young and undeveloped. Like most of the 2021s, they shortened the time of aging, and it was completely in concrete and didn't touch any oak (they sold all the foudres). There's purity and precision, elegance and freshness.”

96 points, Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

“Reductive and a little decadent on the nose with some dried roses, ripe berries, wet earth and moss. Extremely bright and lively on the fleshy palate with lots of sap, succulent and fine, firm tannins. Meaty fruit with so much verve and purity. Long and broad finish. Drink or hold.”
