The Wine
The Reserve Pinot Noir represents the pinnacle of Stonier's Pinot Noir program, sourced from the estate's best-performing vineyard blocks and only produced in vintages that meet the winery's exacting standards.
Fruit is selected from mature vines across key Mornington Peninsula sites, with an emphasis on parcels showing the greatest concentration, structure and complexity. The cooler maritime climate of the Peninsula allows for a long growing season, preserving natural acidity and aromatic detail while achieving full flavour development.
Hand-harvested fruit undergoes small-batch fermentation, often with a higher proportion of whole bunches than the estate wines, before maturation in French oak barriques, including a carefully judged percentage of new oak. The additional concentration and structural framework allow the wine to age gracefully while retaining the perfume and finesse that define Mornington Pinot Noir.

There’s a density here without it being a weighty wine, with exceptional tannin structure the key. Aromas and flavours marry well. The palate is supple and plush, with the acidity juicy and buoyant.
