The Wine
The 'Day One' Pinot Noir originates from Senses Wines' estate vineyard, formerly known as Hillcrest, situated adjacent to the renowned Charles Heintz Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast AVA. Winemaking involves meticulous hand-harvesting, fermentation with native yeasts, and aging in French oak barrels, enhancing the wine's depth and character.
Cellared says
A perfumed lifted pinot, serious floral lift, complex and layered on the palate bringing in classic forest floor and mossy undergrowth. Finessed tannins and zippy acidity drive its line and length, really bloody good, it just goes forever. Expressive and utterly charming.
Reviews
“Flamboyant notes of raspberry pie, Bing cherries, and red roses, followed by wafts of lavender, cardamom, and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate bursts with
vibrant red berry, floral, and savory layers, framed by exquisitely ripe, fine-grained
tannins and amazing tension, finishing with epic length and energy. So elegant and
perfumed, this one could fool you into thinking it is a great Chambolle-Musigny.”
