Pyramid Valley Manata Central Otago Pinot Noir 2021

$83.00

Region: Central Otago, New Zealand
Variety: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2021

The Wine
From biodynamic pioneers Pyramid Valley, the 2021 Manata Pinot Noir is sourced from the Lowburn subregion of Central Otago, grown on glacial schist and loess soils. Hand-picked, 30% whole bunch, and fermented with indigenous yeasts before 12 months in French oak (20% new). The result is beautifully perfumed – violets, rose petals, and wild herbs with red cherry, sous bois and flinty minerality. The 2021 vintage produced wines of stunning clarity and fine acidity.

Cellared Says
Manata 2021 captures both the wild energy and precision of modern New Zealand Pinot Noir. Silken, aromatic and vividly pure. Superbly rich brambly fruit, well structured core, long. Needs a decent to really come alive, but alive it does indeed become. Delicious. Drink 2024–2033.

Wine Reviews
“A seductively floral bouquet leads to a perfectly balanced palate of red berries, spice and fine-grained tannins. Outstanding harmony and length.”
