Piero Busso Langhe Nebbiolo 2021
Region: Langhe (Neive crus), Piedmont
Variety: Nebbiolo
Country: Italy
Vintage: 2021
The Wine
Sourced from 10–15-year-old vines in Balluri, Albesani and Gallina, this Langhe Nebbiolo was fermented in stainless steel and matured for 12 months in large oak botti. Bottled unfiltered, it’s a pure, site-driven expression.
A refined and quietly classical Nebbiolo—pale in colour, mid-weight, and laced with red berries, rose, game and dried herbs. Fine, chalky tannins frame the wine. A graceful, Pinot-esque take on Langhe Nebbiolo with remarkable charm.
Cellared says
A refined Langhe Nebbiolo that has that wonderful aged Nebbiolo quality without the full designation Barbaresco price. Super approachable, forest floor pinot vibes, yet unmistakably Nebbiolo in structure and length. Absolute cracker to enjoy now whilst the Cru’s age.
Wine Reviews
"Plum, blueberry, cherry, mint and spice, grilled meat, rose oil. Interesting aromatics in a way, and kind of different. It has a sweetness to fruit, but a also plus savoury, a firm powdery grip to tannin, and a finish of good length. Like this. Has personality and substance. I reckon it will improve in bottle too."
