Nicole Lamarche Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot 2022

$574.00

Region: Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France
Variety: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2022

The Wine
Lamarche’s Clos de Vougeot holdings span two lieux-dits: Montiotes Hautes, high on the slope near the Château, and Baudes Basse, lower down by the RN74. The parcels, aged 40–50 years, are harvested together and co-fermented in open-top wooden vats.

This is Clos de Vougeot rendered through the lens of Vosne—graceful, perfumed, and driven by fruit purity rather than muscle. Expect aromas of wild cherry, pomegranate and lavender, with subtle mineral salinity. The texture is silky and lifted, the tannins supple, and the balance seamless. It’s a beautiful illustration of Lamarche’s philosophy: Burgundy of perfume and precision, not power.

Cellared Says
An elegant, high-toned expression of Clos de Vougeot that dances rather than dominates. Rarely does this Grand Cru show such clarity and poise. Drink 2030–2038.

Wine Reviews
“Pleasantly forward cherry and pomegranate fruit aroma touched with an almost salty mineral note, spice and a touch of lavender. The texture is silky and elegant, with supple tannins and a good balance between the fresh acidity and the extract.”
95 Points – Charles Curtis MW, Decanter

“A lighter ruby colour. Moderately dense strawberry and raspberry pastilles on the nose. The Clos de Vougeot seems on the raw side because more youthful. The same fruit profile appears on the palate, just a little more tannic. Fair acidity and length.”
91–94 Points – Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
