The Wine
Founded in 1890, La Rioja Alta stands as one of Spain’s benchmark bodegas, crafting classic wines of longevity and polish. The Gran Reserva 904 2015 is a masterwork from a cool, balanced vintage in Rioja Alta. Sourced from the estate’s 60-year-old vines in Villalba, Briñas and Rodezno, it blends Tempranillo with a touch of Graciano for lift and structure. The wine aged four years in 100% American oak barrels coopered in-house, with quarterly rackings, followed by extended bottle maturation prior to release.

Aromas of red cherry, leather, cedar, pipe tobacco and polished spice lead into a palate of remarkable harmony — bright acidity and ultra-fine tannins carrying a long, savoury finish that defines the 904 style.

Wine Enthusiast in fact named Gran Reserva 904 as their number one wine in the world in 2016.

Cellared Says
If patience had a signature, it would taste like this. The 2015 Gran Reserva 904 balances generosity with restraint, showing the kind of classical grace that only decades of experience deliver. A cellar treasure that drinks beautifully now yet will reward 20 years more. Got to love Rioja, it’s got so much to give. Drink 2025–2045.
