Gembrook Hill Chardonnay 2025
Region: Victoria
Sub Region: Yarra Valley
Variety: Chardonnay
Country: Australia
Vintage: 2025
The Wine
The cool Upper Yarra conditions at Gembrook Hill are ideally suited to Chardonnay. Long ripening periods, naturally high acidity and low yields contribute to wines of tension, finesse and longevity.
The fruit is hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed before fermentation in French oak barrels. Lees ageing adds texture while preserving the site's characteristic freshness and minerality.
The resulting wine reflects the cool climate and volcanic soils of the Upper Yarra rather than any overt winemaking signature.
Cellared Says
This is exactly the style of Australian Chardonnay I find myself reaching for. Bright, mineral and restrained, with plenty of complexity underneath. Boy are we totally smashing Chardy out of the park, with wines across all price points hitting quality that is, quite honestly off the charts. Your money is well spent here.
Reviews
"The first Gembrook Hill Chardonnay since '23 and well worth the wait... A joy to drink now, and a joy to drink six years from now."
97 points - Philip Rich (Halliday Wine Companion)
"This release is reticent but it has excellent fruit power and the structure to match. It will unfurl, and it will be beautiful... It’s just a matter of waiting for the curtains to open."
94+ points - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)
