Domenica Two Cells Shiraz – Warner Vineyard 2025

$35.00

Region: Victoria
Sub Region: Beechworth
Variety: Shiraz
Country: Australia
Vintage: 2025

The Wine

Domenica is the estate of Peter Graham, who spent 13 years working at Giaconda before establishing his own vineyard and winery on the granitic ridges south-west of Beechworth. Two Cells extends that project into the neighbouring Warner Vineyard, a site with its own considerable pedigree, having previously contributed fruit to Giaconda Shiraz for close to two decades.

The 2025 comes entirely from 30-year-old, spur-pruned vines planted on a north-facing slope at approximately 450 metres. Granite soils, organic vineyard practices and minimal irrigation produce fruit with freshness and mineral detail, while the warmer exposure gives Two Cells a fleshier, more immediately accessible profile than Domenica’s south-facing Estate Shiraz.

Fermentation takes place in concrete before 12 months in seasoned French oak barriques and hogsheads. The old oak supports rather than sweetens the fruit, leaving black cherry, raspberry, liquorice and white pepper framed by cool-climate acidity and fine, savoury tannins.

Cellared Says

This is one of the strongest value propositions in modern Beechworth. It carries the vineyard pedigree and hands-on winemaking associated with Domenica, but its north-facing site makes it more generous and ready to enjoy. Think serious, mineral Beechworth Shiraz rather than a simplified second label. A third string baby Giaconda. Total bargain, this is drinking beautifully. I still can’t believe the price!
