Domaine de Trévallon Rouge 2022
Region: IGP Alpilles, Provence
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah
Vintage: 2022
Country: France
The Wine
A cult classic of southern France, Trévallon remains defiantly individual. The 2022 is a traditional 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, matured slowly to preserve structure and savoury depth. Expect dark berries, olive tapenade, wild herbs and crushed stone, framed by firm but elegant tannins.
Cellared Says
This is not “Provence red” in the casual sense — it is structured, gastronomic and built for time. There’s a garrigue-laced savouriness that makes it thrilling at the table, yet it still has that warm mediterranean red/black fruits upfront. Decant generously in youth or cellar confidently for decades. Another recent event wine and it really delivered, that unusual, outside of Australia, blend gives such a wonderful fruit profile, its hard to put down. Stunning wine and highly recommended.
Wine Reviews
“Structured and serious with dark fruit, savoury herbs and impressive ageing potential.”
95 Points – Jeb Dunnuck
“Powerful yet balanced, with Cabernet drive and Rhône-like spice.”
94 Points – Vinous
