Domaine de l'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Clos de l'Arlot' Blanc 2023
Region: Burgundy
Sub Region: Nuits-Saint-Georges
Variety: Chardonnay
Country: France
Vintage: 2023
The Wine
Domaine de l'Arlot occupies one of Burgundy's most remarkable estates, centred around the historic Clos de l'Arlot monopole. Surrounded by stone walls since the 18th century and farmed biodynamically since 2014, the domaine has become one of the Côte de Nuits' benchmark producers under Géraldine Godot's thoughtful stewardship.
Clos de l'Arlot Blanc is one of Burgundy's rare white wines from Nuits-Saint-Georges. Planted on Comblanchien limestone immediately below the château, the vineyard combines shallow limestone soils with excellent drainage, producing Chardonnay of remarkable tension and mineral drive.
Fruit is hand harvested before whole-bunch pressing and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in French oak. Extended élevage and restrained oak handling allow the vineyard's chalky character and natural energy to shine.
Production is tiny, making this one of Burgundy's most sought-after white wines each vintage.
Cellared Says
White Nuits-Saint-Georges is rare enough. When it's made by Domaine de l'Arlot from the Clos itself, it becomes something genuinely special. This is one of Burgundy's hidden treasures. Tasted in Hong Kong May 2026, exceptional and even better than the ‘22.
Reviews
"A wonderfully complete wine with superb precision, minerality and remarkable persistence."
