The Wine

Laurent Combier is widely regarded as one of the leading producers of Crozes-Hermitage and was among the first growers in the appellation to embrace organic viticulture. The domaine's vineyards are located on the alluvial terraces and stony soils of Pont d'Isère, producing wines that combine Northern Rhône structure with exceptional drinkability.

Cuvée L is sourced from younger vines and selected parcels farmed organically. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, with élevage also carried out in concrete to preserve freshness, purity and varietal expression.

The wine offers a textbook expression of Northern Rhône Syrah, emphasising black fruit, pepper, olive tapenade and spice over oak influence.

Cellared Says

If you're looking for an honest Northern Rhône Syrah that massively overdelivers for the money, start here. Domaine Combier remains one of the region's great value addresses and the Cuvee ‘L’ is absolutely silly good value. Great jubey vibes, svelte mouthfeel, dried herbs, black pepper spice and a red fruit driven core. Lovely stuff. If you know….you KNOW!

Reviews

"A vibrant and energetic Crozes-Hermitage showing classic Syrah character."
92 Points – Jeb Dunnuck

"Enjoyable herbal scents over full, rich berry fruit coulis. More fruit than most this year and more depth, with a good sense of ripeness and there's length of fruit too. Very good for this challenging vintage."
91 Points Decanter Magazine

"Fresh, peppery and beautifully balanced."
