Charteris The Pokolbin Selection Chardonnay Hunter Valley 2022
Region: Hunter Valley
Variety: Chardonnay
Country: Australia
Vintage: 2022
The Wine
From mature Pokolbin blocks, fermented and aged 9 months in French puncheons with partial malolactic. The 2022 combines citrus and nutty complexity with structural acidity. The Charteris The Pokolbin Selection Chardonnay Hunter Valley 2022 won the Best Chardonnay Trophy at the 2023 Hunter Valley Wine Show. It also won the Murray Tyrrell Best Chardonnay Trophy and the George Wyndham One-Year-Old Trophy.
Cellared Says
Textural, inviting and finely balanced—a muscular Hunter Chardonnay with real precision and cracking lick of oak. We used this wine for a corporate event and it showed beautifully, Classic Hunter, but modern, finely put together with a hidden power. Lovely stuff.
Wine Reviews
“Generous pear and chamomile, layered with subtle oak spice and soft-textured acidity.”
