Luciano Sandrone Dolcetto d'Alba 2022
Region: Alba, Piedmont
Variety: Dolcetto
Country: Italy
Vintage: 2022
The Wine
Luciano Sandrone’s Dolcetto draws from high-altitude parcels (Castelletto, Cascina Pe Mol, Ravera, Rocche di San Nicola) and is spontaneously fermented in open steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and stainless aging. The result is a Dolcetto of clarity and structure, with purity of fruit framed by acidity and refinement.
Cellared says
No light or simple Dolcetto here, this is beautifully composed with dark plum and marasca cherry, spice accents, and fine woven, supple tannins. A whole new dimension to the variety, classy and structured. Super enjoyable.
Wine Reviews
“The 2022 Dolcetto d’Alba displays a deeper purple hue… offers riper aromas of mocha, ripe plums, crushed lavender, and sweet earth… Medium-bodied… chalky, ripe texture. It’s moving toward a full-bodied feel and is going to drink well over the next few years.”
