Agrapart “Terroirs” Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru NV (Base 2020; Disg. Mar–Jun 2024)
Region: Champagne
Variety: Chardonnay (100%)
Vintage: NV
Country: France
The Wine
Origin: 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay from Avize, Cramant, Oger & Oiry (Côte des Blancs) · Average vine age: 50+ years
Base Vintages: 2020 & 2019 (reserve wine—2019—comprises 80% of the blend)
Élevage: Natural fermentation; 50% matured in large-format, neutral oak; >36 months on lees
Dosage: 5 g/L · Disgorged by hand: March 2024
Agrapart’s Terroirs is scintillating and unapologetically Grand Cru—the pedigree of these four villages and the maturity of the vines are front and centre. The unusually high proportion of reserve wine (80%) brings depth and seamless texture, while the large-format, neutral oak and extended lees time layer in savoury nuance without masking the crystalline Côte des Blancs line.
Cellared Says
The house calling card—saline, chalk-etched and seriously complete. A perennial “house Champagne” for collectors that overdelivers and builds secondary complexity in the cellar.
As ever, 7 Crus is terrific, but Terroirs is the step up: greater site quality, older vines, serious reserve-wine architecture and two superb vintages at play. This disgorgement is flat-out stunning—already a joy to drink, yet it will reward another year under cork. No third-party notes just yet; trust us, this is superb.
