Louis Roederer Vintage 2016 Champagne
Region: Champagne, France
Variety: Pinot Noir & Chardonnay
Vintage: 2016
The Wine
From Roederer’s biodynamically farmed Montagne de Reims vineyards, the 2016 Vintage combines structure, tension and purity. Pinot Noir leads, delivering red-fruited depth, with Chardonnay adding finesse and lift.
Fermented partly in oak and aged for over five years on lees, the wine shows red apple, hazelnut, chalk, raspberry, spice and a deep mineral thread. 2016 is a cooler, terroir-driven vintage for Roederer — classical in the best sense.
Cellared Says
Complex, structured, beautifully balanced — this is serious Champagne from one of the region’s most exacting estates.
Wine Reviews
William Kelley, Wine Advocate – 94 Points
“Reveals aromas of stone fruits, citrus oil, pastry cream and chalk. Medium to full-bodied, racy and long.”
James Suckling – 95 Points
“Creamy and precise. Baked apple, lemon zest, chalk and almond. Impressive texture and length.”
