2023 Domaine Hubert Lamy Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes

$346.00

Region: Saint-Aubin 1er Cru “Les Frionnes”, Côte de Beaune
Variety: Chardonnay
Vintage: 2023
Country: France

The Wine

Les Frionnes is one of Saint-Aubin’s most dynamic premier cru sites — steeper slopes with fractured limestone and clay that drive mineral intensity. Domaine Hubert Lamy works these vineyards with careful canopy management and low yields to concentrate flavour and maintain freshness.

Native yeast fermentation and maturation in older oak allow effortless expression of fruit and terroir. A hallmark of Lamy’s house style: purity, lift and a poised, saline finish.

Cellared Says

Lemon zest, orchard fruits and crushed stone with a taut frame and succulent energy. A precision Chardonnay with serious presence.

Wine Reviews

The 2023 Saint-Aubin Les Frionnes 1er Cru comes from various aged vines within five holdings that represent 2.7 hectares. You cannot help but imagine a stormy sea coast on the nose due to its tangible salinity. The palate is very well balanced with quite an intense, almost viscous opening. This has a keen line of acidity, taut and fresh with just a touch of exoticism on the finish courtesy of that warm summer. Lovely.”
92 points, Neal Martin, Vinous

Larger with a very subtle reduction to some clarity of riper yellow citrus. Wow width. Then a cascade of fresh, energetic flavour, fading then holding. That’s a great 2023!!”
