Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin ‘Aux Combottes’ 2007

$689.00

Region: Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy
Variety: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2007

The Wine

Aux Combottes is one of the most celebrated lieux-dits in Gevrey-Chambertin, positioned directly beneath the Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin. Its soils — limestone-rich with excellent drainage — consistently deliver wines of Grand Cru intensity and finesse, despite Premier Cru classification.

At Domaine Dujac, this site is elevated further through meticulous viticulture, organic and biodynamic principles, and the domaine’s hallmark whole-bunch fermentation. The result is a wine that marries aromatic lift with structural depth — a signature Dujac tension between power and elegance.

Careful élevage allows the purity of fruit and site to dominate, producing a Gevrey of precision, energy and long-term ageing potential. Aux Combottes from Dujac is widely regarded as one of the finest non–Grand Cru wines in Burgundy.

Cellared Says

A connoisseur’s Gevrey-Chambertin. Aux Combottes consistently overdelivers, and Dujac’s version sits comfortably alongside many Grand Crus. A must-have Burgundy for collectors who value site above label. The 2007 red Burgundy vintage produced wines of charm, fragrance and early accessibility, favouring purity of red fruit, lifted aromatics and silky textures over power, with the best examples offering surprising finesse and balance rather than long-term muscle. I’d put this in the drink now/soon category.

Wine Reviews

“An elegant and wonderfully perfumed wine, offering red cherry, raspberry and violet notes, underpinned by minerality and fine-grained tannins. Beautifully balanced and built to age.”
Burghound – 94 Points

“Pure and refined, with vibrant red fruit, floral lift and impressive length. This is a superb expression of Aux Combottes and one of the highlights of Dujac’s village and Premier Cru range.”
Vinous – 93–95 Points
