              Chateau Cos d'Estournel 2010
Region: Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, France
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot
Vintage: 2010
The Wine
A towering Cos d’Estournel from one of Bordeaux’s greatest modern vintages. The 2010 captures the power of Saint-Estèphe with thrilling precision — dense black fruit, graphite, cedar and exotic spice overlaid with haunting perfume and depth. Built around Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in 80% new oak, this is both muscular and magnificently polished.
Cellared Says
The 2010 Cos is bold, sculpted and near-immortal. It unites intensity and finesse in a single seamless arc — a great Médoc that defines modern grandeur. Lay it down and forget it till 2030+. Arguably wine of the vintage, a certainty if you take out the first growths.
Well cellared example. Wine above neck, perfect capsule, no leaks evident. Label in good condition, minor tear on rear label. Excellent condition.
NOTE: T&C’s on second hand wines. Sold as seen.
Wine Reviews
“Deep garnet in colour, the 2010 Cos d’Estournel unfurls slowly, measuredly, releasing delicate notes of dried mulberries, stewed plums and black-currant pastilles before giving way to pot-pourri, chocolate box and leather. Medium- to full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid foundation of very firm, grainy tannins and lively acidity supporting remarkable intensity of tightly-wound fruit layers, finishing very long and fragrant.” — Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate, 99 pts
“The 2010 Cos d’Estournel is initially backward on the nose, yet eventually reveals pixelated black fruit, crushed stone, cedar and pine-cones. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins that frame multi-layered black fruit laced with cedar and black pepper. Great body, superb length and outstanding precision on the finish.” — Neal Martin, Vinous, 98 pts
“Monumental and age-worthy; one of the finest Cos d’Estournel ever made.” — James Suckling, 98 pts
